Tinder vs Bumble

There are two competing apps on the market for finding a date or hookup: Tinder and Bumble. If you’re on Tinder, here’s the little guide I have compiled for you:

Times you should use Tinder

If someone you’re interested in recently got some new profile pictures and updated her bio, this is the best time to use Tinder to reach out to her immediately.

This generally works the best because people who get new pictures of themselves on an app like Tinder are super sensitive to not only matches, but also messages. Bumble doesn’t have the same urgency to messaged users because she has to wait for others to make a move.

If you’re fishing, you do not necessarily need to use Tinder on a Saturday night when all the best girls are out. Tinder apps normally run around 5-6 PM, so if you want to increase your probability of matching, you may want to wait until later in the day.

Although Tinder is very quick to let you know when you match with someone, it is still worth locking in your match before messaging a girl on Tinder to let her know that you are interested in her.

More information on Tinder:

Tinder is a mobile dating app available to people aged eighteen and over and used for the purpose of connecting to other people with the intent of starting a romantic relationship often referred to as "TINDERING".

Many people use Tinder in an attempt to meet people for dating, relationships, or casual encounters. Tinder is a location-based social networking mobile app that facilitates communication between mutually interested users, usually in a single evening gathering context.

As the user is moving through their desired location, the Tinder app analyzes their GPS location, wireless networks, and various data points of the user's device.

It then uses machine learning to look for people that are closest to the user. A user sees other people when they move closer to another user who is also interested in meeting new people while on their journey.

Once two users mutually approve each other, the user can chat with each other through messaging. Possibly as a result of this arrangement, the app is popular with a younger generation of people who may be in a context where meeting new people is more difficult or prohibited—such as the student or working class members of the population.

Tinder users can also indicate how 'desirable' they consider themselves to be during the sign up process.

The app is free to use, although some find they must pay to remove the advertisements which appear when using the app.
